Hellloooo, Q&A Friday is back! Last night after a couple back to back clients I got the urge to do a video to have up for you guys today. You guys might not be as excited as I was to have this posted today, but I hope you enjoy!
I dug through questions I’ve had on my list to answer for way too long and today we’re talking about raw dairy, IIFYM or “if it fits in your macros” and my go to for healthy hair, which in essence, is nothing fancy.
We’re actually driving to Charlottesville this morning to stay with my friend Kelli for the weekend and I am so so so pumped. Actually Nick is driving, so I can study and I’m so excited to just relax and for him to see this place I love so much and get to meet some of my closest friends. And I’m so happy to get some fresh, sweet Virginia air and see the mountains and vineyards…so many vineyards.
I hope you have a restful + fun weekend planned!

LOVE seeing some more posts when you can 🙂 Have fun in C-ville. Absolutely love that place and will be there myself in a few short weeks! Also, it was nice hearing your thoughts on iifym. I constantly consider it, however I cannot fathom taking out anymore time in my day to put that much thought into the food I’m eating. It feels like such a waste of brain power! haha! Sounds silly. But I just don’t want to have to think that much or stress that much over fuel!

I love this! Your thoughts in IIFYM are so refreshing, and I agree completely 🙂
I’d be interested to hear more about acidic vs. alkaline foods! Are acidic foods generally processed, refined white carb/sugary foods? And I’m assuming most plant-based foods are alkaline?

Love your video and the answers to the questions! So real and so true! I have somewhat of a random question. In the past few months I’ve gotten really healthy in terms of my eating and workouts. Just a lot of clean eating (but I do love to indulge with some chocolate or wine). But I notice when I get my period, if I eat super clean and don’t have anything too sugary, I have very moderate to light cramps. When when I do have wine or sweets they’re a bit more intense. Is that just luck of the draw? Or is sugar something that triggers the intensity of cramps?
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Robyn,
I don’t usually comment, but I have been a long time reader! I really love your cross necklace, and I am wondering where it is from?
Thanks!

Love what you said about the macro’s. It’s been a long journey for me to finally understand how important it is to not subscribe to a set of ‘rules’ around food. Food is exactly what we make it. And, a lot of the times, our stress around food is worse than the actual food!

I am so glad that I stumbled across your video talking about iifym. Before I started recovery for anorexia, I was convinced that was how I should recover. But once I started recovery with my dietitian without any “restrictive” type plans, I realized that the only reason I want to do iifym was because I would still be able to control the numbers. Like you said, it would have been safe. But every now and then I still feel as if I should be doing iifym because a good majority of the recovery community does and it’s become quite the fad. But after watching your video I was reminded again of why it would not be good for me. It was refreshing to hear your perspective on it, and I completely agree with you. Thank you for posting such great videos and blog posts. I love reading and learning from you. (:
