This conference sounds awesome! One question I have is-do you recommend any food for skin/wound healing? Just curious, with your dietician background and current nursing knowledge. I just had basal cell skin cancer removed from my face and they finish with plastic surgery. It’s a relatively large incision so I just want to eat things to promote healing overall and decrease my chances of infection. I’ve been trying to think of things that maybe are anti inflammatory but if you have any other recommendations, that would be awesome 🙂

Yes! Focus on protein + adequate calories for wound healing and anything that is antioxidant rich- aka all the green veggies and brightly colored fruits! Most importantly though is protein + calories.

“Of course – that’s disgusting.” This made me laugh out loud. I can’t imagine how my husband liked any vegetables when we met. His family is very much a boil and eat clan = not ideal. Roasted is the way to go!
Robyn says
haha yes! all boiled veggies for the most part don’t taste good- maybe you’re able to choke them down but you don’t actually enjoy them 🙂

Hey Robyn! I love your blog and your outlook on eating in general. It’s really such a relief to hear about your relationship with food–it’s the type of relationship I strive for. Since endeavoring to get away from diet culture, I find that a lot of the blogs I used to love tend to rub me the wrong way. That diety talk is so toxic and contagious! Especially when my own food relationship is so fragile.
Do you have any suggestions for other blogs that you read? Ones that have similar outlooks on healthy eating to your own? Apologies if you’ve already done a post about this or something. Thanks!
