I hope you guys had an awesome weekend! I’m trying to get better about sabbathing (that’s not a word but I’m using it ) so that means having one a day a week where I do zero work. No email, limited social media, no blogging, nothing. REST. Sounds easy but I find it hard in our productivity driven society.
Saturday night was straight nuts at work so instead of getting off at 11pm, I finally left around 12:30am, was home a little before 2am, but with the time change that felt like 3am so I slept till 11am! 11AM. I laid in bed for an hour or so before going to a workout class I wanted to go to. That hour or so in bed with a cup of coffee, eating cereal, reading and not rushing off to anything was glorious. Self care. Share something you did for self care in the comments!
Here we area with Part 3 of the amenorrhea series. Watch Part 1 and Part 2 here.
This summer I am going to be teaching a five series course on amenorrhea including in depth information about the causes, diagnostic testing, what your doctor or NP or PA should be looking for and asking about and testing for, and how to heal amenorrhea from a general standpoint. The course will be live, with me, and have limited spots available. So look out of more info on that in the next couple months. I’m super excited and hope you guys find it helpful too!
Until then, today we’re chatting about progesterone and PMS and a little about PCOS vs. HA (hypothalamic amenorrhea) – email me more questions as you have them to [email protected]
Have an awesome week and if you’re in the northeast…bundle up and get cozy if this snowstorm hits like they say it will. I’m into snowstorms because that means I stay in my PJs and eat cozy foods all day.

Thanks for another great post about amenorrhea. I was curious to know your thoughts about maca root for someone with amenorrhea (or just in general)? I know it is supposed to help with cortisol levels, right?

hopefully this post helps! 🙂

My boyfriend is huge on sabbathing too, and it’s slowly rubbing off on me, which is a good thing! I’m a stressball. I need to learn to relax.
Love these videos. Thank you for sharing so much knowledge.
PS: My computer tried to autocorrect sabbathing to sabotaging. Hahaha.
Robyn says
so so glad to hear he helps you rest – Nick does too 🙂

Thanks your for videos on Amenorrhea they’ve been really useful! I wondered if you’ve heard of seed cycling and if you have any thoughts on it?
Robyn says
I do not know much about seed cycling but will look into it!

It’s always a battle to make time for self-care, but creating a Sabbath day helps. (I also try to rest from social media and too much computer use that day.) Yesterday was the day I took time for the self-care activity of giving myself a pedicure.
Robyn says
totally agree – and I LOVEEEE pedicures too 🙂

Thanks for doing these videos. I always appreciate how you think things through and explain things in an understandable way. What do you think about someone who has gotten their period back for a while (about a year) but some months have 6 week cycles or period just isn’t very regular with timing. Is the lining not thick enough and so the body prolongs the bleeding?
Robyn says
so glad you are enjoying them abigail! it’s hard/impossible to answer that question without more information on your history but feel free to email me at [email protected] 🙂

Hi, great series that I’ve been very interested in following along, thanks for all the useful info. I’ve had a cyst on my pituitary gland for a few years resulting in almost non-existent LH & FSH levels. All gyno’s that I’ve visited have prescribed birth control in order for me to have a regular cycle. Obviously, it would be extremely hard for you to give any concrete advice with so little info but just wondered what about your general thoughts?
Thanks again for sharing such useful information with your readers
Robyn says
Hi Anoude – I can’t give individual advice without knowing anything about you due to ethical reasons – but feel free to email me at [email protected]! 🙂
